This position is located at the Tucson VA Health Care System. The primary purpose of the position is to provide professional administrative support and expertise to the Pharmacy Service team.
Duties
Major duties of the position include but aren't limited to:
Reporting directly to the Administrative Officer of the Pharmacy Service performing a wide variety of duties such as, serving as a timekeeper, Budget and FCP responsibilities, handling WOC appointments, employee and resident Onboarding, serves as TMS administrator, Contracting and Contracting Officer Representative FAC C, Records Management Officer, Conference Room Scheduler, ADPAC duties, Equipment EIL functions, Agent in Place to accredit ACPE education, data entry and preparation of numerous reports and correspondence, creating and maintaining spreadsheets and other documents inherent to the activities of the work unit. The incumbent also serves as front desk receptionist, receiving visitors to the Pharmacy administration office, Pharmaceutical Drug Reps, as well as other health care agencies and health care providers. The incumbent provides general support services to internal and external customers such as answering the telephone, referring visitors, or providing information regarding services provided by the Pharmacy Service, its functions, and standard operating procedures. The incumbent screens calls and personally answers calls when the requested information concerns routine and procedural requirements and determines if the call requires routine or urgent attention. The incumbent carries out work independently, resolving problems in accordance with policy.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/16/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify for the GS-9 based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Supporting the Chief of Pharmacy in analyzing, evaluating, and developing or finding solutions and process improvements for all areas of the pharmacy service providing program oversight of the residency program accreditation process, and overall clerical and administrative support. OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree in the related field of the position to be filled. The education portion must include courses that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Education must have been obtained in an accredited college, or university. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the first year of graduate education.

Physical Requirements: Mostly sedentary, but may require lifting packages delivered to the front office weighing up to 50lb and some walking to different buildings throughout the facility.
