The incumbent works with the VTS Supervisory Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Services program. The coordination of transportation function is multi-faceted and diverse.
Duties
The incumbent works with the VTS Supervisory Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Services program. The coordination of transportation function is multi-faceted and diverse. The three major areas of responsibility are: (1) Scheduling, Data Collection, & Tracking Support; (2) Consult Management responsibilities; (3) Program Support responsibilities. The incumbent must have knowledge of clinical services, related software and programs as they relate to clinical computing and office automation. Major duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Performs work involving consult management, appointment scheduling and admissions scheduling.
Collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of Veteran Transportation Service (VTS).
Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialty areas.
Utilizes the Veterans Health Information System & Technological Architecture (VISTA), Computerized Patient Record Systems (CPRS) or SharePoint Consult/Request Tracking System in processing internal consultations.
Plans for, organizes, administers, and directs how the work will be accomplished for the VTS program.
Provides technical and management guidance necessary to achieve the optimum use of service resources.
Plans and provides support services in the following types of program areas: electronic records management; driver scheduling setup & management; space utilization services.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30. (Days and hours may vary)

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/15/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: deal effectively with problems, issues and situations which occur in the daily activities of the Veteran Transportation Services and maintain effective relationships which contribute to the organizational and service goals; prepare and produce written instructions and a variety of correspondences; consult management, scheduling, admissions, discharge, transfer, and administration with patient processing; knowledge of structure of electronic medical records; broad knowledge of Scheduling Package, Consult Management processes, in addition to the Veteran Transportation Service program package and its use in applications; and proficient in using Microsoft software and other software programs.

Physical Requirements: Incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that require a professional attitude and collective reasoning. The incumbent is subject to a high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever-changing demands due to program changes.
???????Work Environment: Duties will be predominantly performed in the Veteran Transportation Service program office with intermittent trips to various locations throughout the Medical Center's catchment area both in and near patient care areas where there may be risk of exposure to disease.
