The primary purpose of the position is to leads a team of Transportation Assistant in the unit to accomplish goals and objectives based upon a full understanding of management objectives and knowledge of how the Service and Health Care System are organized.
Duties
Major Duties:
Distribute workloads equitably among the staff and checks status of work and makes necessary adjustments.
Responsible for correctly determining which of several fund control points to utilize, obligating funds, maintaining manual and electronic accounting records, performing regular reconciliations, and adjusting account balances.
Act as a liaison between vendors and (FMS) for invoices pending payment.
Serve as a customer service representative for all matters involving VTS and the Beneficiary Travel Program, communicating and interacting with patients in a manner appropriate to cognitive, emotional, and chronological needs of the adult and geriatric patient.
Estimate and reports on expected time of completion of work and maintain records of work accomplishments and time expended.
Assist the Mobility Manager in planning and directing programs that provide VTS support services functions.
Collect, compile, and track data and statistical information in sup port of Veteran Transportation Service (VTS).
Coordinate service practices that decrease wait times for patients in all areas.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/22/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a Gs-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of Beneficiary Travel, Veterans Transportation, and eligibility determination; experience in both oral and written communication, phone etiquette as well as extensive experience working with various computer technologies; experience working in a team setting and provides excellent customer service.

Physical Requirements: Incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that will require a mature attitude and collec tive reasoning to overcome. The incumbent is subject to a great deal of stress because of high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever-changing demands due to program changes. The work requires no special physical demands, but will require standing, walking, bending, and sitting.
