About the Position: Incumbent will serve as a Security Assistant for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) EA Security Information Protection Division. Positions will be filled at Fairbanks, Alaska / Fort Eustis, Virginia / Augusta, Georgia. This is not a remote position. Salary negotiation may be available for those highly qualified candidates who are new to Federal Service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized for highly qualified candidates. A recruitment incentive may be authorized.

Duties

Serves as the Physical Security Assistant in facilities management, and automated and manual facilities access, to include key and identification badge control. Performs tasks associated with safeguarding information and material to ensure the effectiveness of appropriate security systems, devices, procedures and methods. Performs personnel security functions and tasks for military, civilian, and contract personnel assigned or attached to the Agency and its subordinate units. Assists with maintaining security cameras assigned to the organization, and trains individuals or groups on security related matters. Assists in maintenance and coordination of classified document control and security education briefings and awareness. Assists the Lead, Personnel Security Specialist in a variety of security program functions.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Employee must be able to acquire and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
