This position is located in Eagle Butte, SD. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising, managing, and directing the information management system that involves all computer, telecommunications and data communications support clinical programs.

Duties
Serves as Data Base Administrator of the RPMS system, coordinates and facilitates the maintenance and distribution of data element tables, globals, routines, patches, updates and new software releases.
Implements a Data Security Program for ADP systems in accordance with the Computer Security Act of 1987, and Internal Controls as outlined in various 0MB Circulars to safeguard the integrity of the data transmitted on the telecommunications network.
Responsible for maintaining the voice and data communications network within the IHS for the service unit.
Prepares annual reports that provide long-term planning for budgeting and forecasting of computer systems and voice/data communications needs.
Supervises and plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and capabilities of employees; evaluates work performance.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-2210-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Leadership skills to include, facilitating network, telecommunication, server operations and maintenance; to monitor the system performance, equipment management, testing and integration of new technologies; responsible for maintaining the voice and data communications network within an organization.
Supervisory Abilities:
This is a supervisory position and candidates, in addition to the professional qualifications listed, must have demonstrated in their work experience or training, that they possess, or have potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision, as required for this position
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
