Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Duties

The incumbent serves as Deputy to the Director, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Directorate at Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) comprised of primary component areas which can include: services, recreation and family programming. Assists the Director on quality-of-life programs and issues affecting over 100,000 Active Duty, Active Reserve, Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR), and Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) Marines, Sailors and their family members located at (158) separate sites throughout the United States.  Assists the Director in developing MCCS business strategies, ensuring policy and procedural compliance, measuring organizational performance and correcting failing strategies.  Resolves internal and external operational problems not covered by established policies including coordination and collaboration with other staff agencies. Exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate managers to include setting annual performance goals with managers and evaluating attainment of such goals. Assists in resolving financial, personnel and operational problems that impact on the effectiveness of MCCS programs. May represent the Director to other organizations and commands on matters concerning MCCS projects and programs. Maintains liaison with advisory boards, councils, etc. Sets priorities and establishes methods and time frames for accomplishment of MCCS projects. Prepares supporting documentation for presentations and proposals.  Prepares correspondence, briefs, action documents, routing sheets, information papers, and slide presentations for use by management/leadership officials.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with a business/management major from an accredited college/university. Minimum of five years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of management principles in planning, coordinating, and attaining the goals and financial objectives of a small to medium sized customer-oriented organization; a thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to analyze trends/developments and make improvements in operating programs through innovative marketing, and personnel management.  Minimum of four years of supervisory experience.Advanced skills in public speaking and presentations. Possess above average oral and written communication skills and have ability to deal with individuals on different levels such as Congressman, high-ranking military officers, etc. Ability to plan and organize events and activities.Comprehensive knowledge of USMC quality of life programs and services. Knowledge of the military structure and environment preferred.  Skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with, and gain confidence and cooperation of supervisors and managers to accept proposals on complex issues; organize and communicate effectively orally and in writing at briefings and training sessions, with Marine Corps leadership, media representatives and in professional conferences and training workshops to encourage understanding and acceptance of programming. This position has been determined as Non-Critical Sensitive. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain an Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (T3/ANACI) Secret Clearance to access classified information.  They also must have knowledge of and comply with all security rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to safe handling of classified material.
