Duties

Work with the SHARP Program Manager and Command Staff to manage the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program for the Brigade Commander. Conduct prevention activities in an effort to reduce or eliminate sexual harassment and sexual assault cases. Plan, organize staffs, carry out reviews and evaluate a positive management oriented SHARP program that includes efforts to resolve systemic problems. Conduct response activities in the event of a sexual harassment complaint or sexual assault.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires the employee to successfully complete a 7-week SHARP Training Course in accordance with SHARP program requirements within initial 24 months of employment. Failure to do so within the timeframe may result in removal.
  • DoD Sharp certification is required to be obtained within initial 6 months of employment. Failure to complete the training and obtain the certification within prescribed timeframe may result in removal from the position and/or Federal service.
  • This position may require the employee to be occasionally on-call.
  • This position is subject to SHARP background checks. Individuals found to have derogatory information in any check may not be eligible for this position and may be removed from further consideration.

OR Education: A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as public health field of study. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of education and experience: At least two years of graduate education, but less than the required three years. Compute the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
