The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. The legislation creating the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum was established by Congress in December 2020. This position is located in Digital Strategies, Smithsonian American Women's History Museum (SAWHM), Under Secretary for Museums and Culture, Smithsonian Institution (SI).

Duties
The Smithsonian American Women's History Museum aims to recognize women's accomplishments, the history they made, and the communities they represent. This position builds and maintains community partnerships for the Museum's digital initiatives, focusing on:

Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as experience at a collecting cultural institution engaging in administration and program management, managing portfolios and budgets of numerous concurrent programs; experience with community outreach and engagement, collaborating with a wide range of people and communities, building enduring relationships between organization and community representatives; experience advancing diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion; experience with digital story telling platforms; experience hosting and facilitating meetings and events in person and online.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
ORA Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field of study such as business administration.OR3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a graduate degree in a field of study such as business administration.ORCOMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: At least 1 year of combined graduate education and experience as defined above.
