Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior; Office of the Secretary (OS); Assistant Secretary for Insular and International Affairs (ASIIA); Ocean, Great Lakes, and Coastal Program (OGLCP) in Washington, DC..
If applying to a specific duty station, you may be allowed to telework a set number of day(s) per pay period, with supervisory approval.
At the full performance level (GS-15) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1) The incumbent leads interagency working groups and sets agendas, creates talking points, and orchestrates and monitors USCRTF meetings.
2) Collaborates with interagency partners to identify, coordinate and/or analyze projects, and develop or recommend resolutions to issues and challenges to contribute to the health of coral reef ecosystems for long-term economic and social benefit.
3) Develops the annual USCRTF workplan and leads interagency efforts to implement USCRTF actions, such as passing resolutions to set interagency policy, establishment of priority areas for conservation, discussion, and coordination of stewardship and multi-use plans.
4) Provides review, analysis, and guidance to principals at DOI and on the USCRTF in achieving programmatic goals, including building timelines, drafting resolutions, and implementing coral reef strategies to inform decisions, reduce risk, and improve sustainability.
5) Represents DOI on interagency working groups to facilitate long-term strategic planning on coral reef initiatives.
The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Washington, DC Salary Information:
GS-15: $163,964 - $191,900 per annum.
First time hires to the Federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-15, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) working on initiatives and/or programs at the territorial, state, or Federal level that aim to improve the health, restoration, and conservation of coral reef ecosystems in the United States; 2) managing interagency or other broad stakeholder projects to define issues, develop priorities and goals, and ensure milestones are met, such as the creation of a national plan or strategy; AND 3) coalition building and/or partnership development to advise organization principals and lead subject matter working groups where not all team members are initially aligned to program or project goals.
