Duties
You will serve as a Deputy Branch Head and Supervisor for the Cost Estimating and Analysis Branch as well as the SYSCOM Deputy Cost Director providing support to SSP Leadership, Technical Branches, and the Nuclear Weapons Surety Division.
You will manage the Cost Estimating and Analysis government and contractor personnel responsible for the performance of life cycle cost estimating and analysis functions for all programs under SSP's cognizance.
You will provide cost estimating and analysis products and services to SSP senior leadership and branches.
You will develop, review, and coordinate assigned cost estimating and analysis products and services (e.g. CARDs, CCEs) supporting SSP Acquisition Program(s) and initiatives.
You will conduct periodic cost model updates and analysis of new "actual" cost data, new direct labor/overhead rates, and develops POM budget requests.
You will prioritize resources and integrates all efforts required to produce thorough, accurate estimates and analyses or cost.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist, performing cost estimating functions (for example: cost analysis, cost modeling, cost trades, risk assessments) to ensure adequate resources for a weapon systems program.

Engineering Positions 08XX:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.

Bachelor's Degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.
