About the Position: The Information Management Information/Technology Department provides dedicated support for patient care, hospital staff, and our tenants. Provides excellence in information technology solutions and services that facilitate top-quality health care, customer service, and the vision of the Defense Health Agency. Core business hours are 6:00 A.M. -6:00 P.M. Candidate is expected to work an 80-hour per two-week period within those hours.

Duties

Serve as the administrative management point of contact for the support staff, department and the chief. Plan, direct, and coordinate administrative task management support services, programs, and functions within the organization. Advise the support staff in office automation and task management matters. Establish administrative standards and requirements for the department and directs the program management support functions for the support staff. Serve as the primary source of information pertaining to the management of personnel functions, correspondence, central files and administrative system tools. Evaluate and approve administrative procedures for mail, central files, directives and correspondence processing. Aid the operating manager and subordinate operating officials in day-to-day operations using knowledge and skills in dealing with the organization, methods, funds and personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements. Incumbent will be required to regularly work 12 hour shifts.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Administrative Management, Business Management or related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementBudget AdministrationPersonnel and Human ResourcesTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
