This position is located in the Government Accountability Office, Infrastructure Operations, Shared Services and Property Branch. As a Shared Services Assistant you will be responsible for coordinating administrative activities and providing technical support to the Shared Services Manager and the leadership of the Infrastructure Operations Team.
Duties
As a Shared Services Assistant, AC-0303-2, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Serve as the Shared Services and Mail primary point of contact for responding to and/or coordinating responses to Shared Services and Mail initiatives, requirements, and request for information from employees for the Infrastructure Operations Leadership.
Receive incoming regular and express mail for handling.
Deliver mail and packages through the headquarters building.
Assist staff with sending work-related items using U.S. Postal Service. express mail and courier services.
Take passport and visa photos of staff for official foreign travel.
Aid and instruct employees in the operation of multifunction copier equipment to print, copy, scan, fax, and email documents.
Order supplies using MS Office Suite software to annotate production reports.
Provide instructions to customers, complete work reports, and document interactions with customers.
Deal professionally and courteously with management officials and staff at all levels of GAO to provide direct assistance to customers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
One year (52 Weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the AC-I or GS-7 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent. Specialized experience is experience (1) coordinating the receipt and distribution of mail for an organization; (2) printing and binding reports/documents into a finished product; (3) maintaining and tracking office supply usage; and (4) providing input for procedural improvements in shared services and mail areas.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
