About the Position: Serve as an IT Specialist (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) and the principal advisor to the Group Commander on all matters regarding planning, implementing and managing cybersecurity (CS) and information technology (IT); providing oversight and technical assistance to subordinate units utilizing systems unique to the USACIDC command.

Duties

Serve as the and Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) technical expert in a Military Police Group. Analyze and verify the feasibility of advanced systems design and integration within established and planned architectures. Coordinate new initiatives, project statuses, and technology updates with parent Headquarters (USACIDC). Review new or changing requirements, incorporating these requirements into existing or planned systems. Perform IT project management and technical services to maintain Group and subordinate field office operations. Serve as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO). Review new or changing requirements, incorporating these requirements into existing or planned systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) subject to pre-employment drug test and random drug testing based on the requirement to possess a Top Secret security clearance in accordance with AR 600-85.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain IT certification standards for IAT Level II as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Certification Standards within the first six (6) months of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: disseminate policy and guidance on Information Technology (IT) and Cyber Security (CS) programs; provide oversight and technical assistance with utilizing systems, critical IT issues, and IT development applications; and provide administration of Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) for the command. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information ManagementInformation Systems/Network SecurityNetwork OperationSystem Administration Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
