About the Position: This RDA Program Protection Policy Specialist position is assigned to the US Army Acquisition Support Center, Long Term Training, located at Arlington, VA.

Duties

Provides multidisciplinary Research, Development, and Acquisition (RDA) program protection policy expertise within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Sustainment (DASA(S)). Develops, institutionalizes, and promulgates risk management strategies and policies across the Department of the Army’s (DA) acquisition community. Reviews and coordinates program protection plans of U.S. Army acquisition programs that contain Critical Program Information (CPI), critical technologies, and mission-critical information. Develops policy recommendations that effectively protect sensitive U.S. Army technologies and programs against hostile targeting and collection efforts.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectees must meet position requirements for Advanced certification in the Acquisition Career Field Program Management within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • Business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-03/GS-13 or equivalency which includes: 1) Develops long-term policy related to program protection as it relates to identification and protection of critical program information (CPI) and their enabling technologies.; 2) Develops, institutionalizes, and promulgates risk management strategies and policies for the organization to limit threats to organization's weapon systems and their supply chains; 3) Provides advice and assistance to program managers and program executive offices on improving acquisition security, cybersecurity, and IT supply chain security measures and their integration into program acquisition and system development plans and processes; AND 4) Coordinates RDA program protection risk management for the organization to ensure efforts are symbiotic with external and higher-level organizations' policies, processes, and priorities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03 or GS-13).
