This position is located in a State Office in USDA/Rural Development (RD). The Incumbent serves as a key member of the State Director's staff, participating fully in the planning, development, and implementation of rural development and assistance programs.

Duties
Provided support to major projects and programs.
Review administrative regulations, procedures and policy directives to determine applicable to the office/ division.
Prepares periodic statistical reports based on available records.
Supports the development of staffing plans, employee development, and organizational design by tracking such data as turnover, hiring etc.
May perform receptionist duties including answering the phone, greeting/ directing/ accompany visitors to the office, etc
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Time in grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time in grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
For the GS-07 level: Applicants must have one (1) year if specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level or it non-federal equivalent that demonstrates:
providing a variety of administrative services in support of functional activities;
assisting supervisors by participating in the planning, directing, and coordinating of the procedural and administrative management work;
independently conducting special or one-time reviews of administrative matters;
establishes priorities, assigns suspense items, and monitors through completion;
responsible to oversee potential problems relating to leave, overtime and timekeeping and services as an office manager in support of a variety administrative functions to include travel, property communication and office software needs (word processing, spreadsheets, record keeping, etc.).
