This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Caribbean Division, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

Duties

Serving as the Community Outreach Specialist in support and assistance to the DEA's Office of Training's community outreach and prevention support activities, including program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of community events. Supporting the Office of Training (TR) developing, delivering, and advocating preeminent law enforcement and non-law enforcement training to DEA personnel as well as appropriate federal, state, local, and foreign law enforcement counterparts. Maintaining a collaborative relationship with DEA Headquarters, other external federal, state and local law enforcement communities and strengthens DEA's presence in the community based network. Hosting events, providing briefings to academic groups, other law enforcement agencies/groups, and foreign government counterparts. Establishing and maintaining contact with Office of Training (TR) financial units and works directly with DEA Headquarters' contracting and procurement staff.

Requirements

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service (or equivalent) performing the following duties: 1) Overseeing a community outreach program (e.g. drug use and misuse, family violence, homelessness programs) ; 2) Conducting seminars, briefings and workshops to a variety of entities as part of community outreach and prevention activities; 3) Researching and monitoring latest drug use, trends, violence or crimes to determine potential concerns to communities. You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service (or equivalent) performing the following duties: 1) Liaising with prevention organizations and community partners that focus on drug use, family and violence; 2) Analyzing statistical data and budget reports to monitor outcomes and metrics; 3) Formulating and recommending drug prevention communication strategies that include modern approaches such social media presence.
