The Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Inspector General is currently looking for a Special Advisor (Infrastructure and Inflation Reduction), in the Deputy Inspector General's office, in a location to be determined. Join our professional team of auditors, criminal investigators, and inspectors who help support DOE's mission through performance and financial audits, inspections of management issues and administrative allegations, and investigations into alleged violations of law.
Duties
As a Special Advisor (Infrastructure and Inflation Reduction), you will:
Assist the Chief Advisor for Strategic Planning and Program Oversight to oversee, refine, and execute the infrastructure strategy of Office of Audits (OA); Office of Inspections, Intelligence Oversight, and Special Projects (OIIS); and Office of Cyber Assessments and Data Analytics (CADA).
Coordinate and conduct outreach efforts with other OIG elements, the Department, and outside entities to ensure the infrastructure strategic assessments are compliant and efficient.
Provide guidance and conduct training on the most efficient and effective techniques to include the utilization of data analytics to find Infrastructure-related fraud.
Advise the Chief Advisor for Strategic Planning and Program Oversight through reports about fraud risks, internal control problems and other deficiencies relating to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
Requirements

- Must obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
- Will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- The position is a Drug Testing Designated position and is subject to preemployment and random drug testing.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) Experience using data analytics and effective graphical representation of complex data to succinctly communicate and translate technical information to high level non-technical stakeholders; 2) Experience in developing agency strategic planning requirements and execution in the Federal context, in accordance with OMB directives; and 3) Experience in application of quantitative and qualitative analytical and evaluative methodologies used to address complex organizational issues in an oversight agency. This includes the ability to develop new methodologies and/or theories where current approaches are obsolete or do not support evolving directions and strategies.
