This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, POLICE OPERATIONS DIVISION. As a Supervisory Police Officer (Deputy Inspector), you will be a Branch Manager that acts in the absence of the Inspector, and if required the Police Chief - assuming full responsibility directing supervisory personnel, civilians and police officers.
Duties
As a Supervisory Police Officer (Deputy Inspector), you will:
Act in the absence of the Inspector, and if required the Police Chief - assume full responsibility directing supervisory personnel, civilians and police officers.
Regularly qualify and demonstrate consistent proficiency with the agency issued service weapon(s) and carry a firearm or other weapons in the performance of their duties as governed by the Office of Security's policy on training and weapons qualification.
Provide oversight for the proper management and supervision of a major police branch.
Directs, supervises, and manages the overall security protection programs in the Police Operations Division and the activities of all supervisors, police officers and civilian staff.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the TR-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the TR-10 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Experience as a senior level law enforcement supervisor that has demonstrated experience supervising/managing subordinate supervisory law enforcement personnel and supervisory civilian personnel, AND
- Demonstrated experience managing/supervising at the command level, AND
- Experience as a Supervisory law enforcement officer managing the writing or revising of operational/administrative policies and regulations.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the TR-11, you must have been at the TR-10level for 52 weeks.
