The primary purpose of this position is to serve as program/project coordinator for assigned special programs/projects and to serve as the Unit Deployment Manager for the assigned organization. Analyze, monitor and implement deployment and related systems and programs.
Duties
Serves as the focal point for assigned squadron programs and special projects. Based on overall knowledge of assigned programs, determines accurate responsibility for proper actions required for timely completion of projects.
Performs reviews and conducts extensive staff studies of programs and special project administration by the assigned organization to analyze and determine the impact and area activities involved.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive and effective unit deployment program to ensure current and future unit taskings can be filled.
Serve as UDM (Unit Deployment Manager) during exercises and real-world deployment when 24-hour operations require multiple shifts.
Interprets policy and program directives and studies operational management procedures, planning, and regulatory guidance.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology of unit deployment management and unit upgrade training to accomplish a variety of assignments independently; requires a knowledge of pertinent law, regulation, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources; knowledge of a wide range of established methods, principles, and practices relating to unit level resource management; knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes and administrative operations of the organization; ensuring personnel readiness, monitoring deployment eligibility, and maintaining reporting systems. EDUCATION: Applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related, and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
In-depth and comprehensive knowledge of operations, practices, services, needs and goals of the program(s) and the organization served, and related customers, functions, resources and users.
Knowledge of deployment policies, laws, regulations and directives.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to prepare and present briefings, coordinate planning efforts and manage program activities.
Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
Ability to review, analyze, and manage Contingency, Deployment Planning and/or War Reserves Programs.
Ability to maintain good working relationships.
Knowledge of Air Force deployment/contingency procedures and instructions.
Knowledge of security, safety, fire, and health, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable safety standards, regulations, and/or technical orders.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
