This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Real Estate to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Performs final technical review of Real Estate appraisals prepared by journeyman staff and contract fee appraisers.
Duties
Review and approve/disapprove fee and easement appraisals for acquisition and disposal.
Compare appraisal reports to ensure that all properties are appraised consistently.
Advise appraisers of discrepancies and suggests different methods and procedures to be used in revising or making additional appraisals.
Serve as Contract Administrator for appraisal services.
Determine land requirements, research ownerships, titles, uses, zoning, and other factors.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.

For the GS-12:
One year of specialized experience which includes performing technical review of appraisals for various types of properties; contract negotiation and administration; preparing detailed Real Estate or consulting reports; involvement in acquisition leasing and disposal of Real Estate interests and reviewing title work and mapping/surveys. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
For this job at the GS-12 grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
