The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and delivery for Youth Programs.
This position is a full time and will be eligible for benefits.
A valid state driver's license must be obtained and maintained; a good driving record may be required as a condition of employment, and a must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug screening
Duties
Operates a variety of motor vehicles (approximate weight up to 10,000 pounds) to transport and deliver a variety of hot/cold food items to and from the Child Development Center and Youth Programs.
Ensures products are delivered to programs according to quality standards established by Public Health.
Obeys all traffic laws and safety regulations. Performs and documents vehicle operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels, air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing vehicles.
Assists food service employees in the preparation of meals for children/youth enrolled at the Child Development Center and School Age Care. Cleans, cuts, chops and dices vegetables, salad or other food items.
Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread and cold beverages on meal preparation/serving line.
Removes soiled dishes, trays and utensils. Cleans tables and counters, sweeps floors, empties and sanitizes waste cans. Cleans kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators.
Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, serving containers and utensils in the dishwasher area. Loads and operates a mechanical dishwasher. Returns sanitized items to their original location.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
- This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds.
Must have knowledge of defensive driving techniques and regulations.
Must be able to follow simple oral instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.
Must be physically able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls.
Exposed to high temperatures, hot surfaces and cutting utensils.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
