The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service from the Child Development Center to the Youth Center on Malmstrom Air Force Base. This position is a full time and will be eligible for benefits to include; Medical/Dental Coverage, Life Insurance, and 401K.

Duties

Operates a variety of motor vehicles (approximate weight up to 10,000 pounds) to transport and deliver a variety of hot/cold food items to and from the Child Development Center and Youth Programs. Ensures products are delivered to programs according to quality standards established by Public Health. Obeys all traffic laws and safety regulations. Performs and documents vehicle operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels, air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing vehicles. Assists food service employees in the preparation of meals for children/youth enrolled at the Child Development Center and School Age Care. Cleans, cuts, chops and dices vegetables, salad or other food items. Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread and cold beverages on meal preparation/serving line. Removes soiled dishes, trays and utensils. Cleans tables and counters, sweeps floors, empties and sanitizes waste cans. Cleans kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, serving containers and utensils in the dishwasher area. Loads and operates a mechanical dishwasher. Returns sanitized items to their original location. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain current record of immunization.
  • The position requires a copy of driving record.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of defensive driving techniques and regulations. Must be able to follow simple oral instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds. Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Exposed to high temperatures, hot surfaces and cutting utensils. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution.
