This vacancy is for an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) position in the Department of Commerce located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.
Duties
Serves as a system administrator for Middleware infrastructure and software components both commercial off the shelf (COTS) and Free Open-Source (FOS).
Applies industry standard approaches, best practices methods, and basic management principles to adapt system/application environments to a variety of subject matter situations.
Provides technical support to customers in support of application systems hosted on the organization’s servers.
Composes and/or updates user documentation and provides information on new services.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Analyzing, evaluating, and executing work focused on Middleware (MW) products/components, application systems, integration platforms, and/or infrastructure appliances; planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified software package versions and applications software in accordance with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Scaled Agile Framework (Safe); and supporting the leading COTS application middleware server products in the market today such as: WebLogic Server/WebLogic Fusion, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure support.

In addition to the above specialized experience, your resume must demonstrate one year of Information Technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
