About the Position: Serves as a Electronics Technician (Biomedical) for Evans Army Community Hospital, duty location Fort Carson, CO.

Duties

Ensure appropriate action prior to purchase is completed before medical equipment is entered into use. Manage special projects involving the installation, service and repair of highly complex medical equipment and systems. Perform direct support and First Look of one or more highly complex medical device systems that are comprised of integrated sub-components. Provide medical device training to other biomedical technicians and staff when required Determine schedule of preventive maintenance and formulates methods and techniques to perform maintenance. Serve as an adviser for clinical staff and leadership on the procurement and standardization of highly complex medical equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • This is a mission essential position performing a Mission-Critical function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continue through full resumption of all functions.
  • This position is Inclement Weather Essential. This means that you must be willing to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position
  • Incumbent may be required to handle and/or ensure proper disposal of hazardous material(s).
  • This position requires the use of protective/safety clothing/equipment
  • Incumbent may be required to consult with co-workers or clinical staff outside normal hours to resolve problems and/or be subject to callback to perform emergency repairs
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid civilian/military driver's license and may be required to obtain and maintain a military/commercial driver's license for heavy or special purpose vehicles.
