About the Position: This position supports the Army Logistics Directorate in Evans Army Community Hospital on Fort Carson, CO. The incumbent will serve as a Electronics Technician (Biomedical) with responsibility for troubleshooting, testing, repairs, and maintenance on complex medical, peripheral devices ensuring equipment is compliant with the most stringent standards, manufacturer's literature or regulatory guidance. Provide technical guidance, training and assistance to users.
Duties
Expresses ideas and facts to individuals or groups effectively; makes clear and convincing oral presentations, listens to others; facilitates an open exchange of ideas.
Apply an in-depth understanding of electronic theory, mechanical theory, pneumatic theory, clinical application of medical devices, and medical standards.
Identify and analyze the conditions affecting problems with testing, modifying, troubleshooting or maintaining medical equipment systems.
Conduct testing to insure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards and monitors operation of network inter operable medical systems, ensuring hardware and software are functioning properly and operating standards are met.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Annual seasonal influenza immunization required due to working in a medical facility.
- Must be in possession of a valid Stateside Drivers License at the beginning and duration of employment.
- May work uncommon tour of duty - (i.e. on call)
- Required to obtain and maintain A+ Certification and maintain certification in accordance with DoD or Army Guidance.
- May be required to handle and/or insure proper disposal of hazardous material.

Specialized Experience is described as; experience using schematic diagrams, variety of test equipment, application of appropriate electronic formulas involved in such duties as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, designing, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, constructing, developing, and instructing on electronic equipment, or similar functions; developing policies, standards, and procedures for maintenance and installation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal Service (GS-09).
