Duties
You will perform receipt inspection, pre-use inspection and making verification of naval nuclear material ensuring proper material control and traceability is maintained.
You will ensure reactor cleanliness is maintained in accordance with local directives as required by NAVSEA specifications for reactor plant cleanliness.
You will independently initiate and authorize rejection of workmanship, components, materials, and procedures that do not meet specifications by preparing a Nuclear Deficiency Report.
You will perform electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical inspections, pre-arrival and material condition assessment inspections, in-process, product, pre-test, test inspections, certification.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Ability to initiate and authorize rejection of workmanship, components, materials, and procedures that do not meet specifications by preparing a Nuclear Deficiency Report;
Ability to use special measuring and inspection devices (i.e. digital multimeters and AC/DC power supplies);
Ability to read diagrams, specifications, drawings and technical requirements at the journeyman;
Ability to work on shipboard (submarine) nuclear and structural systems;
Ability to perform electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical inspections (i.e. pre-arrival, material condition, in-process, product, pre-test, test, certification, and acceptance of completed work) on various nuclear reactor plant systems.
