Organizational Location: These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), in Irving, Texas.
Duties
As a Financial Program Specialist, at the full performance level you will perform the following duties:
Performing financial transactions associate with organization activity.
Preparing reports from a variety of sources identifying problem areas.
Providing timely financial-related advice required to assist management in making effective decisions.
Providing analyses, projections, and interpretations to maintain maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

This is a bargaining unit position that it is not currently covered by a bargaining unit agreement.
Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement reflects the lowest and highest base salaries for this position. The actual salary range will be based on the applicable locality pay for the selected duty location. General Schedule locality pay tables may be found under Salaries & Wages.
Requirements

- Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Annotating consistently different types of obligations;
Checking the accuracy and consistency of data such as estimates, obligations, expenditures, revenues, and reimbursements;
Forecasting funding needs and develops timetables to obtain funding;
Preparing reports from a variety of sources to assist senior level analysts identify problem areas. OR
Education: A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree; or two years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D. if related to the position, from an accredited college or university. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet the qualification requirements for the GS-09 grade level. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Only graduate education in excess of the first full year can be credited for the combination. The total combination must equal at least 100 percent of the requirement.
