Duties

You will supervise/oversee all aspects of the planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integrated prevention programs at the installation, command, and/or unit level. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of assignment difficulty and requirements, and the employee’s capabilities, and privileging status. You will organize, set and monitor workflow of the Integrated Prevention Program. You will serve as an advisor and technical prevention expert to commands on the installation for Integrated Prevention Programs. You will direct the development of methods and techniques required for prevention program execution, leveraging academia, research and industry, as needed.

  • Duties involve local travel to commands and installations; travel up to approximately 10% may be required outside of the local area.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying knowledge of the social sciences as related to integrated prevention programs in order to evaluate, consult, advise in a variety of settings. Conducting effective prevention program activities to prevent destructive/problematic behaviors and promote healthy climate. Leading collaborative efforts with diverse internal and external stakeholders and foster buy-in for crosscutting efforts to include senior leader support and advocacy. Identifying needs, trends, and performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for process improvements. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

or

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

or

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
