You will serve as a Lead Regional Emergency Response Dispatcher (OA) in the Navy Installations Operations Program of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will operate a central computerized phone system console (e.g., multi-line 911 systems, Reverse 911 system, other equivalent communication device) to interpret and relay emergency information. You will screen incoming calls to determine whether the call is emergent or non-emergent in nature. You will maintain radio communication with responding emergency personnel and coordinate request for additional resources.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Incumbent is required to be trained as a Telecommunicator, trained to perform NCIC/NLETS/III criminal history checks and certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch.
  • Incumbent is required to successfully complete the RDC Training Program within 8 months of reporting aboard to include classroom and On-The-Job Training (OJT).
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating various systems such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, radio equipment, trunking radio and talk group systems, Enhanced 911 telephone systems and fire and security alarm systems to respond/communicate to law enforcement, fire, medical, hazmat emergencies; 2) Processing multiple requests (e.g., communicating with emergency caller while communicating with police or fire dispatch) for emergency services simultaneously; 3) Coordinating emergency responses in accordance with inter-agency procedures and installation organizations; 4) Making workload adjustments to improve services rendered as incidents/emergencies occur; 5) Knowledge of leadership and management concepts with the ability to lead a diverse group of individuals; and 6) Possess the ability to make independent decisions during emergencies and communicate those decisions to the responding units in concise terms.
