About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts on Luke AFB, AZ.
This position is Flexible, guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours but can work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Flexible employees are not eligible for leave or benefits. May include nights, weekends and holidays.
Duties
Works in framing, engraving, ceramics, sublimation printing and conducts instructional classes. Orders or receives all materials necessary to complete customer's orders, supplies for instructional classes and resales merchandise. Completes customer's work orders in sufficient detail, ensuring order is accurate and professional. May conduct inventory, ensure pricing is accurate and current. Stocks shelves and displays merchandise. Loads and unloads kilns, ensuring the customer's items are fired using correct procedures. Provides budgetary information and data to the supervisor relative to shop operations and requirements for supplies and equipment. Utilizes arts and crafts machines, equipment and miscellaneous hand tools. maintains and cleans equipment and work area to ensure safe working environment. Plans and conducts various instructional classes, demonstrations, and displays in various base facilities. Maintains routine administrative and operation forms, records and bank deposits. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Knowledge of graphic art, color coordination, and artistic skills. Be able to conduct instructional classes. Knowledge of and skill in operating manual and electric miter choppers, v-nailer, mat and glass cutters, vacuum mount press, air compressor, computer engraver, computer graphics program, heat press, beveller, metal cutters, kilns, and miscellaneous hand tools.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
