Duties

You will prepare formal reports of findings and recommended corrective action for submittal through the chain of command to base headquarters. You will perform scientific monitoring of contaminated soil water, and stormwater, so as to identify environmental quality problems. You will provide assistance on environmental matters applicable to operational requirements. You will routinely be assigned various administrative tasks such as assisting with data entry, permit-required report generation, supply management, and data calls. You will perform onsite assistance visits and environmental training to units/ organizations upon request.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Interpreting and applying environmental principles, federal and state laws, and regulatory requirements related to multi-media environmental management and proficiency in data management systems. Education


In lieu of specialized experience you may also meet the minimum qualifications through education and/or combination of education and experience by satisfying one of the following:
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
OR
Successfully obtained an LL.B or J.D that is related to the position.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
