Duties
There is one permanent full-time position available in Jensen, UT and one permanent career-seasonal position, subject to non-pay, available in American Fork, UT. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. The Career Seasonal appointment extends from mid-February to mid-January; you will be placed in non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
These positions perform recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers. You will receive work orally or through work orders. The instructions are of a general nature, supplemented by your knowledge and understanding of the trade. You are responsible for detailed layout, selection of tools and materials and for accuracy, completeness and adherence to standards. Assigned tasks are performed independently, with no technical assistance. Finished work is checked for adequacy by supervisor.
You will perform a minimum of two of the following trades: Carpentry, Painting, Plumbing, Roofing, Masonry, and Water Plant Operation.
Secondary duties may include: electrical; water systems operator; wastewater treatment operator, maintenance and repair; equipment operator, motor vehicle operator; asphalt work and road maintenance; and laborer duties.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT). Experience must be demonstrated in at least two of the following trades: Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, Masonry, Water Treatment Plant Operations, or Roofing.
Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic).
Knowledge of Materials.
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment.
Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading).
Use of Measuring Instruments.
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.
