About the Position: Incumbent service is of an executive nature, comprised of complex leadership and administrative components, associated with critical health care issues and activities that influence the organizational mission, health care, and policy. Provides expertise and acts independently within broad, general policy and program guidance. This includes managerial and technical matters, manpower, personnel, operations, training, readiness and budget.
Duties
Develop/review various regulations, legislative proposals, polices and directives pertaining to military healthcare operations.
Monitor, operate, and manage the Task Management System (TMS).
Carryout responsibilities of major projects with the analysis and evaluation of programs and operational effectiveness.
Overseas a myriad of organizational and medical programs.
Provide managerial advice and assistance on overall requirements, policies and challenges.
Develop/modify objectives of assignments subject to administrative control over time, resources, and personnel available.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This is a drug testing position and requires a pre-employment screening.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position may require overtime and shift work on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes develop organizational or strategic plans for healthcare operations; develop complex healthcare policy, procedures and /or directives; overseas a myriad of organizational and medical programs; and lead military, civilian and/or contractor personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
