This position is located in the District of Columbia (DC) Courts, Human Resources Division, Benefits Branch. The Human Resources (HR) Assistant provides information and assistance in the processing of various benefit programs offered at the DC Courts. The incumbent will process and code benefits and personnel actions in the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS), and maintain official employee records.

- A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
Grade 7: High school diploma or GED certificate and two (2) years of general administrative experience and one (1) year of experience working in a human resources environment. Attention to detail, exceptional customer service and time management are required.
Grade 8: High school diploma or GED certificate and two (2) years of general administrative experience and two (2) years of specialized experience. Attention to detail, exceptional customer service and time management are required.
Grade 9: High school diploma or GED certificate and two (2) years of general administrative experience and three (3) years of specialized experience. Attention to detail, exceptional customer service and time management are required.
Specialized experience is defined as:
Coding and processing personnel actions using a federal HR system.
Demonstrated skill in extracting and inputting data in various systems such as, but not limited to; eOPF, FHR, GRB, FPPS, EPIC and EMPHR.
Knowledge of and demonstrated skill in at least two (2) federal benefits programs.
Preferred: College degree
Equivalent combinations of relevant education may be substituted for general experience.
