The primary purpose of this position is to serve in a supervisory capacity, providing planning, directing, organizing of law enforcement operations and clerical duties, while exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the 733 Security Forces Squadron.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the administrative section, ensuring that support services complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and support services objectives.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements.
Represents the squadron) with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other section supervisors.
Plans, organizes, and provides a variety of services in support of all operative elements of the 733 Security Forces Squadron (SFS). lnterprets instructions, regulations and policies and develops and implements working procedures lAW those instructions, regulations and policies.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-0342-07, Support services specialist. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include directing a variety of substantive clerical operations, including the research, interpretation, and analysis of material; performing highly technical and complex administrative work; subject matter expert in administrative function applications; development, coordination and integration of multiple organization requirements and policies; applying safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures; ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

EDUCATION: I have successfully completed one full academic year of graduate-level education with a major study in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the range of security forces and military police policies, procedures, and practices.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organized, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Knowledge of applicable law enforcement and security AF, Federal and DoD rules, regulations, instructions, practices principles and procedures including reporting requirements, document control procedures and physical security.
6. Knowledge of Security Forces Information, Management Systems (SFIMS) and/or Common Operating Police Suite (COPS).
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
