This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
You will serve as an Engineering Technician responsible for all assigned engineering projects to include studies and design that interface between USAG-Hawaii, the applicable Architect/Engineer firm, and the Army Corps of Engineers District Offices.
You will prepare plans, designs, specifications required and cost estimates for approved special projects involving maintenance, repair, alteration, or construction in support of the HITF and USAG-Hawaii.
You will prepare projects of broad scope and complexity for accomplishment by architectural/engineering (A-E) design/study development contracts.
You will serve as point of contact and in a liaison capacity to A-E personnel during their on-site inspection of projects.
You will review utilities systems and infrastructure repair and construction projects for adequacy of justification, clarity of requirements, duplication of requirements and appropriate concurrences.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be required to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of CAD is desired.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying engineering design and geometric principles related to design sufficient to monitor work for compliance; planning and analyzing project costs by reviewing engineer's estimates, contract modifications and/or field personnel estimates; experience preparing or reviewing or finalizing engineering documents.
