Qualifications

All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. All applicants must possess the following: A J.D. or LL.B. degree from an ABA accredited law school; and An active membership, in good standing, of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico To qualify for this position at the IC-12 level (starting salary $94,199), you must possess one year of full-time professional legal experience gained after being admitted to the bar equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:  Providing oral and written advice, analysis, interpretations, and guidance on basic to moderately complex assignments and sensitive legal and policy matters; Drafting and reviewing documents for consistency with all applicable legal authorities and requirements, to include:  analysis and advice, directives and other internal policies and procedures, correspondence.   To qualify for this position at the IC-13 level (starting salary $112,015), you must possess two years of full-time, professional legal experience gained after being admitted to the bar.  Your experience must include at least one full year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower grade IC-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:  Providing oral and written advice, analysis, interpretations, and guidance on basic to moderately complex assignments and sensitive legal and policy matters; Drafting and reviewing documents for consistency with all applicable legal authorities and requirements, to include: analysis and advice, directives and other internal policies and procedures, correspondence, reports, memoranda, testimony, regulations, legislation, agreements, and other such documents.
