You will serve as F-35 Training and Support Systems (TSS) Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) in the Air Platform System Engineering Division, Systems Engineering Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. As the APMSE, you will provide multi-disciplinary support for the F-35 Air System in PEO (JSF) and will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support to integrated program team.
Duties
You will be responsible for planning, assigning, managing, and coordinating engineering tasks for a major aviation program.
You will develop and review program technical and mission documentation, provide authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues and ensure engineering requirements are met.
You will participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing if available or imminent technology is sufficient to meet requirements or system concepts are applicable to fleet operational requirements.
You will recommend revisions to operational requirements or design concepts as required.
You will formulate engineering design concepts and performance requirements which provide the basis for overall technical and engineering planning for the assigned system.
You will accomplish other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the STRL DP-04 Pay Band or equivalent GS Grade Level (GS-12/13) in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: 1) Provide authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues to ensure aviation system engineering requirements are met; 2) Develop project-planning objectives for engineering development of current and long range programs; 3) Perform or direct technical analyses required during the development phase; 4) Assist in the preparation, planning and development of integrated logistics support plans for assigned aviation systems; 5) Maintains continuous contact with research and development personnel in order to be informed on all new engineering and scientific developments of assigned aviation systems; and 6) Organize and perform technical reviews to ensure adequate resources for assigned aviation systems.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above)

Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
