This position is located within the Great Plains Area Regional Drug Dependency Unit (GPARDDU) in Winnebago, NE. The incumbent of this
position will be required to work shifts (days, evenings, and weekends). The incumbent serves as a Nurse, Infection Preventionist, and Employee Health advocate as well as ensuring safety and environment of care for the facility are sustained in compliance with accreditation standards.
Duties
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients based on nursing assessment and on the physician's medical plan of care.
Provide Employee health education to staff and contractors regarding immunizations, infectious disease practices through education and training
Provides oversite of general health, infections and any environmental conditions that may expose staff and clients to infectious diseases and vectors, conduct infectious disease investigations and assure treatment and care is completed.
Oversees and monitors the implementation of the facility's accreditation program for quality and safety. Provides reports and educates staff including trainings.
Qualifications

In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-11: I have at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. Examples Include: Experience with healthcare policy development and implementation of professional nursing, infection control and employee health.
OR
I have successfully completed a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field
Time In Grade (Merit Promotion Candidates Only)Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
