The Primary Purpose of the Position is: To use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents; and, to provide miscellaneous clerical support. The position if for an Office Automation Assistant for the Chief Nurse of Critical Care.
Duties
Duties to include but not limited to:
Uses automated schedulers or calendars to establish suspense dates.
Transmit and receive documents and messages electronically using personal computers or workstations that are networked or linked to other computers or workstations.
Creates elementary macros to simplify and expedite assignments.
Uses word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters and lengthy reports.
Assist in developing and formatting of reports, methods and/or procedures.
Operate existing database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports.
Uses graphics software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations.
Composes non-technical correspondence, such as instructions on office procedures, requests for information, and letters of acknowledgment/notification.
Review and process incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, and publications.
Establish, update, and maintain office records of various types.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. May be required to work other shifts, on-call, nights, weekends and/or holidays

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/02/2024.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education s described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Uses automated schedulers or calendars to establish suspense dates.
Transmit and receive documents and messages electronically using personal computers or workstations that are networked or linked to other computers or workstations.
Creates elementary macros to simplify and expedite assignments and provide instructions on their use to others in the office.
Uses word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters and lengthy reports.

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have To qualify based on education for this grade level you must possess 4 years above high school-Bachelors Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED).

Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education. The applicant must has 9 months of specialized experience and 75 semester hours of college (15 semester hours beyond the second year and the equivalent of 3 months of specialized experience). The applicant meets 75 percent of the required experience and 25 percent of the required education. The applicant meets 100 percent of the requirement for 1 year of specialized experience and is qualified for the position. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary; however, some bending, stretching, walking, and lifting are required. Boxes of records must be packed and lifted for shipment. Carts are available.
