This position is located within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and will serve as Senior Policy Advisor. The Office of the Chief Financial Officer provides financial operational support; fiduciary accounting and reporting of funds; timely and accurate management information in support of FMCSA programs.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include: Experience in providing program and technical advice, as well as carrying out special projects which cover a broad range of policy and budgetary, financial, and grant management issues. Experience in formulating and recommending operating policies and procedures or changes to existing policies and procedures. Experience in developing and implementing short-range and long-range strategic plans and goals.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement. Manages and Organizes Information - Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.
