Duties
Monitor the presses throughout the press run and make adjustments as needed.
Performs minor maintenance on presses regularly and Inspect, adjust, replace, and set rollers.
Examine press plates for defects.
Set up presses and equipment according to specifications.
Direct and assist Feeder Operator or PPWs in the cleaning and securing of the press.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is Required.
- Selectee must successfully pass all Pre-Employment Requirements prior to appointment.
- Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
- Physical Effort: Duties require prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching above the shoulder, and climbing. A moderate amount of hand, wrist, and arm movements is involved.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Duties are performed in a press production environment where there is exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, ink mist, odors/fumes, spray powder, and paper dust.

To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element to be considered for this position: Job Element #1 Ability to do the work of a Second Offset Pressperson (multi color) with normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) to be considered for this position. Applicants must also have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality, to independently perform the duties, which are: 1) assigning and managing workloads; 2) setting up, adjusting, operating, inspecting and maintaining multi-color offset sheet-fed presses (up to 7 units with split fountains) and screen-printing pressesand the incumbent must be able to see all colors; and/or 3) printing passports and other security and quality work according to specifications.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
