As a Branch Chief Underwriter Team, you will:
Serve as principal technical advisor to the Production Division Director, and other Multifamily Hub or Satellite Office management, to provide advice and guidance on matters pertaining to statutory and regulatory requirements and other administrative directives.
Serve as HUD's primary contact for all external agencies and professionals coordinating technical or programmatic issues related to specific transactions, pipeline and portfolio transactions, and program parameters.
Oversee and provides guidance on applicable regulations and policy in the loan approval and development of the project.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Leading projects which have the responsibility for preserving affordable multifamily housing; AND
Interpreting or advising on policies and regulations relating to multi-family mortgage finance programs either in the loan origination and project development process, or by writing policies or procedures for a housing/mortgage project or program; AND
Managing the multifamily underwriting and credit approval process by coordinating due diligence for lending opportunities including market analysis, financial analysis and valuation; AND
Serving in a senior staff position in an office or demonstrating leadership experience in connection with the underwriting of multifamily mortgage loans.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
