About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Department of Pathology, Honolulu, Hawaii. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Duties

Prepare various reports for management tracking purposes. Monitor, instruct and provide guidance to all department administrative/clerical personnel in administrative procedures. Use automated data processing equipment to prepare in final form a variety of narrative and tabular materials such as correspondence, reports, charts, statistical tables, manuals, technical papers, staff studies and messages. Compose correspondence associated with duties such as letters and memoranda required to transmit various reports and messages within the organization and other agencies. Assist in performing tasks involving budget planning and execution. Accomplish input to the automated Time and Leave System for personnel assigned to the organization.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service providing administrative and clerical support which includes: screening and directing telephone calls and visitors, preparing a variety of reports, composing and/or editing data, processing and tracking various correspondence through automated systems and using a variety of software programs to create database files to edit, retrieve reports and correspondences. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
