ARC is seeking a Finance Specialist to join our Finance and Administration Team. This position is responsible for supporting the financial operations of ARC, including but not limited to, processing grant related obligation transactions, managing the purchase and travel card programs, providing travel support, managing interagency agreements, supporting systems, and providing updates to and developing new related financial policies and procedures.
Duties
The incumbent is responsible for processing a high volume of financial transactions, interpret and apply complex rules and regulations, maintain a high level of processing accuracy and attention to details and timeliness while providing excellent customer service. The incumbent is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and processing grant related financial transactions such as obligations, deobligations, and any required adjustments. The incumbent will conduct various financial analysis pertaining to the areas described above or otherwise assigned by the supervisor. This position reports to the Division Director, Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to facilitate the development and execution of interagency agreements.
Strong knowledge of administered grants into U.S. Treasury's ASAP system and requests certification.
Adept knowledge of general accounting principles.
Demonstrated effective organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, professional demeanor including complete respect for the confidentiality of sensitive data, discretion, and a customer service perspective.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Outlook, Excel and Word.
Core competencies: accountability, adaptability, collaboration, communication, and critical analysis.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and bring an energetic and innovative approach to his or her work.
Successful completion (prior to hire) and maintenance of background security review; U.S. citizenship required.
Minimum to no travel. If travel is needed, must maintain, and possess a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field such as accounting, business administration, finance, or public administration.
Three years of relevant work experience in financial management or a combination of financial management experience and education.
