About the Position: This position is with the Office of the Deputy for Acquisition and Systems Management in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology), This position directly supports the front office Executive level operations and is, located in Arlington VA.
Duties
Direct managerial support to the ASA(ALT) and the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS)-G4 senior level decision makers, division chiefs, and Action Officers in the technical and administrative matters relating to a variety of substantive staff actions.
Provides advice/assistance to the ASA(ALT) Chief of Staff (CofS), the ODCS-G4 Executive Officer (XO) and all senior level directors on all staff actions affecting the mission for the ASA(ALT) andDCS-G4.
Screens all incoming documents directed to the front office Executive level to remain cognizant of matters affecting the work of the ASA(ALT) and DCS-G4, and to obtain and present background material to take action and/or make recommendations.
Verifies and analyzes information submitted by various Army Commands (ACOMs), Army service component commands (ASCCs), and direct report-ing units (DRUs).
Supervises the day-to-day activities of a branch of military and civilian employees.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for Advanced certification in the Program Management Career Field Acquisition within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Business travel required up to 25% of the time.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-03/GS-13 or equivalency which includes: 1) Provides integration of staff actions to facilitate effective management of subordinate commands and directorates. 2) Identifies issues adversely affecting SACO program implementation and institutes changes as necessary either through policy or procedural changes. 3) Reviews and edits all outgoing correspondence for content, clarity, adherence to the organizations requirements and policies, guidance and philosophies. 4) Interprets and prepares narrative presentations, fact sheets, information papers, graphs and charts to provide basis for decisions, program objectives and presentations during staff meetings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03 or GS-13).
