This NAVIGATOR (INSTRUCTOR) position, is located at the unit level in the Air National Guard (ANG) Aviation Wing, Operations Group at flying units in the ANG and is part of the CA 129 RQW.

Duties
THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION
The primary purpose of the NAVIGATOR (INSTRUCTOR), GS-2183-12, is to navigate unit equipped (UE) aircraft. Positions specifically covered by this series include (1) Instructor Navigators/CSO's for heavy multiengine transport or tanker aircraft and (2) Instructor Weapon Systems Specialists in fighter or reconnaissance aircraft. Instructor positions are covered since their career relationships are in the aircraft operation field and the positions have as their paramount requirement experience and training in air navigation. In addition to navigation responsibilities, performs administrative tasks in support of the Air Operations program.
Qualifications
General Experience: Posses experience which provided a working knowledge of the navigation systems and navigational instruments of the assigned airframe
NAVIGATOR (INSTRUCTOR), GS-2183-12: Possess at least 36 months experience, education or training that has required you to obtain information on type of mission, weather and intelligence data, and special instructions; experience preparing navigation flight plans; experience that provided a knowledge of proper readings and operations of navigational systems; Experience that shows your ability to test and inspect the operation of compasses, navigation systems, or radio and radar equipment; experience utilizing various navigational methods and aids to accomplish flying missions; Experience computing the effect of various factors during flight to establish present course and project balance of course and ability to train, evaluate and certify proficiency and competency of lower graded personnel; Have completed the necessary hours required for your current airframe; Have the certification as a qualified Navigator Instructor
