This position is located in Sitka National Historical Park, in the Maintenance Division. This is a permanent, Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment in the competitive service. Government housing may be available for this position. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

Duties

Leads a crew of between 4-10 employees in performing maintenance and repair work to all park facilities (both historic and non-historic), grounds, roads, trails, and utilities. Demonstrates proper work methods and works along with others to set a pace. Ensures necessary plans, materials, supplies, equipment and tools are available when needed. Recommends operation needs per work requests to the supervisor. Ensures safety and housekeeping rules are followed, including holding routine safety meetings, performing Job Hazard Analyses, performs safety walk-arounds, and gives proper instruction on the use of personal protective equipment.
