Duties
Works with Facility Manager, Work Leader, and other park employees. As a member of the park's Maintenance Team, the employee will perform common maintenance duties associated with trades such as plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical, as well as grounds maintenance and custodial work, on the facilities at Sitka National Historical Park, including the Visitors Center, Totem Trail, the historic Russian Bishops House, leased government housing and other facilities. The employee will be a motivated self-starter who performs these tasks with a minimum of supervision. Operations of vehicles (such as a light truck and UTVs) to load and unload supplies and transport materials to and from different locations within the park. Employee will be a point of contact to receive, unload and process incoming shipments according to established procedures and report of any discrepancies, damages to responsible parties for items. Employee may also be responsible for additional duties related to park safety, facilitating/ attending safety meetings and trainings, completing annual safety inspections and reports, and communicating safe practices to employees and visitors.
