Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for performing essential IT tasks associated with the day-to-day operation of the United States Attorney's Office IT systems. Typical work assignments will include:
Maintain network architecture and infrastructure, and configure and maintain servers, hubs, routers and switches.
Perform file management functions (e.g., allocation, deletion, backup, recovery, upgrades).
Diagnose computer hardware, software, or system malfunctions or problems.
Install, integrate, or configure information systems network hardware or software.
Perform storage management (e.g., configures or installs drives, monitor utilization or performance).
Use computer systems or applications to access, create, edit, print, send, retrieve, or manipulate data, files, or other information.
Provide technical advice or assistance to others.
Respond to requests or resolve complaints from customers.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications
GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least ONE full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service. This experience could have been gained in the federal, public, or private sector.
Specialized Experience involves performing the following types of duties: installing and maintaining network systems; configuring and maintaining servers, hubs, routers and switches; installing network upgrades; performing network diagnostics and resolving network problems; assessing IT policy needs; implementing procedures to ensure information systems reliability; and installing hardware and software.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
